Following the suspension of the industrial action embarked upon by the unions of Ekiti State University, Management of Ekiti State University wishes to inform all students that full academic activities have resumed on campus. The students are also to note that lectures are to start immediately.
The Vice- Chancellor of the university, Prof Samuel Oye Bandele, stressed that the management has observed that some students are yet to register and pay the necessary dues. Accordingly, Management has decided that those who have not paid their school fees and other dues will not be allowed to attend lectures or enjoy the University facilities.
Parents and guardians are enjoined to advise their wards to comply with the university directive on payment of fees.
Meanwhile, the Vice-Chancellor has expressed gratitude to the Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Peter Ayodele Fayose, the Chairman of the University Governing Council, Dele Adesina, SAN for their role at ending the industrial action. He also commended members of the Governing Council, Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), Non Academic Staff Union (NASU), National Association of Academic Technologists (NAAT) of the University for their co-operation at ending the strike.
Professor Bandele further expressed gratitude to other stakeholders who intervened in putting an end to the strike
