Jamb 2019 Score That Assures Your Admission Into Any University

The Jamb admission score that guarantees admission is what most candidates are interested in at this moment. Most students are wondering the cutoff mark required to study a particular course at the university.

You may want to know that each university has the Jamb score you must reach to even sit for post UTME. Others asked me this question most times “If I score between 180 and 200 can I gain admission?

This article will be an eye-opener as I will try to leave no stone unturned on the issue of Jamb score that guarantees admission.

The 2019 Jamb registration is in process and students seek to know what Jamb score must they reach to get admission into their desired choice of institution.

In most cases, candidates say scoring 250 in Jamb guarantees their admission. Shocking alert, it is not true, many students who scored 180 got admission while others with higher score did not.

Your admission status is not determined by how high your score is.

Jamb Score To Gain Admission Into Your Choice Of Institution

Your chance to gain admission into your choice of institution is dependent on the following factors.

The overall performance of candidates results in that year.

The type and nature of course registered.

The number of students who registered for the course.

Institution space for the year admission.

Admission Type of entry.

Permit me to explain the above points in details to broaden your understanding of Jamb score for admission.

#1. The overall performance of candidates results in that year

The performance of the candidates after the examination determines the admission. The higher the performance that year, the higher the cutoff mark and vice-versa.

This makes it literately impossible to predict the year’s admission process. Also, schools determine the cutoff marks based on post Jamb performance.

#2. The type and nature of course registered

Candidates who registered for courses with high competition must also get their competition shoes on. Courses such as Pharmacy, Economics, Engineering, Law, MBBS, and the like demand a high Jamb score.

The same applies to courses such as mathematics, sociology, anthropology, business admin etc as they need lower Jamb score. The lower score is as a result of the competition as few candidates applied for these courses.

Average students best shot is to go for courses with lower competition as it is relatively easier as not much students apply for these courses.

#3. The number of candidates who registered for the course

The number of candidates who registered for a particular course also determines the cutoff marks. Each University is known for a particular courseand most times students want to study a course due to the university’s past record.

For instance, the University of Ibadan (UI) is known to produce good medical doctors, University of Benin (UNIBEN) to produce good Engineers. Since these universities are good in these courses, they tend to have high cutoff marks in those courses.

#4. Institution space for the year admission

Each year, institutions make provisions for a certain number of students. Therefore, the cutoff mark is determined by the Institution capacity.

The Institution is totally responsible for the number of candidates they admit. Some Universities admit up to 10,000 candidates each year, while others admit as low as 3,500 candidates each admission season.

#5. Admission Type of Entry

The admission type of entry matters, most students fall under the merit list. While others wait for the second and third batch. The merit list includes candidates who scored high.
